Hi,

I've used the EWA (build 81) for some time to schedule recordings on my GBPVR server from other PCs on my network. I also access the EWA remotely when away from home (via the internet).

When I'm on my local network, I'm not prompted for a user/password but when I'm remote, I have to enter the User & password I entered in the GBPVR config page. ok so far Smile

I prefer to use Guide2 which works fine when I'm on the local LAN but refuses to let me log-in when I'm remote.

To be precise, If I use guide.aspx in the URL during remote access, I get prompted for user & password and when entered, I get the normal 1st EWA listings page.
If I use guide2.aspx, I get prompted for the user & password but when I enter them, I get an error saying I've entered an invalid User or password and the page resets to the login page.

Should I be able to log-in via guide2.aspx remotely?

Hi,

dependant on the PC I'm using for remote access it's either IE7 or IE8.

if I login using Guide and then switch to Guide2 pages that works fine. It's just logging in via Guide2 that doesn't work.

Very strange.....I am able to login fine externaly in IE6, 7 & 8, FireFox and Chrome.

Seems there must be some environmental thing going on at the client end.

Are you truley accessing from outside your network or are you inside using an external dns name?

Ok, was away from home today and tried logging in with Guide2 and guess what.....it worked. I haven't changed anything since last week. (I hate inconsistencies :madSmile

I looked back in the log to last week and found the entries you asked about above. The inference from the log is that the password entered didn't match. This is odd because I am absolutely sure it was put in correctly (multiple times with the deliberate single heavy finger approach) and when I switched to using Guide with the same password it worked.

relevant section from log will be sent via PM.

This isn't the first time I've had this but it's a devil if it's not consistent.

Yea....without consistency in the problem it is really hard to figure out what may be occurring.

When you access externally.....are you accessing from a work site or some network that may have a proxy in place. I have seen some strange login issues when people are trying to access remotely when coming through a proxy.
