Thanks Pieter your logs helped. I don't see this because I have AlwaysQuery turned off. The SQL call for unknown genre looks like it is wrong, the query should probably return everything without a genre rather than nothing. Cursor down in blue will fix it for now.

Here's an update to correct pz1's problems on the genre query

- Updated blue skin with NoItemsMessage defined in Title.xml. CS skin has this defined in the baseskin and Blue does not which explains why it would give a blank screen on Fatman_do's update to Blue. Apply only the new skin if you want to confirm the fix.

- Removed (unknown) as an option for Genre queries. I am not sure of the value of this query especially as the first genre. I can put it back if someone explains why.

I think it was for untagged stuff, ie no genre. Would have been smarter if I'd not used a special character ("(") then it wouldn't have sorted to the top.

I was really meaning why would anyone want to play all or random un-genred files and not just use random on by Artist. I'm not sure it is necessary.

Does setting a collection to default (instead of system) work right for everyone else ? When my default is on system, collection switching seems to work fine, but when I switch default to a collection called Albums, it doesnt seem to.
(hopefully my choice of the term 'Albums' isnt the problem..)

I hate to ask but where do you change the default collection from system? It's not something I've ever tested or found for that matter.

setting default collection is done through the config app

but I have never found it very reliable and often ended up editing the db directly

Thanks, checking the code this is ML2 config only it's been removed from the ML3 source. I will provide a config.xml override so you don't have to change the database as a temporary measure.

Actually I got home and tested and it is there on the right click, it just doesn't work as expected.
