I read about a vendor Myka liquidating their stock of NMT's for $89 as they move to the ION platform http://myka.tv/buy.html?page=shop.browse&category_id=6 and approached them to see if mvpmcx2 with GBPVR worked from their units. They tested and wrote me that mvpmcx2 does run so I think this could be a be a very interesting way to obtain a GBPVR client for a great price, certainly worth considering for some of you with a few MVP's needing to be replaced sooner or later.

In comparison with other NMT's, I think it should be considered like an A100 although Myka say EGreat M31b. I leave it to you to determine if the Myka software interests you at all or if it is a PRO or a CON

PROS
- Price
- Myka has been approachable
- All NMT function keys on the remote
- New not refurb
- HDMI 1.3a

CONS
(I will not discuss cross-flashing)
- End-of-life product
- Unproven
- Will it run YAMJ, or NMT Web Source ????
- Will it run NMT apps. ?????
- DTS downmix ????
.
Price isn't everything and I still consider the EGreat M34a a bargain NMT at $145 delivered but 50% more might not be appealing if you don't need DTS downmix. Myka's ION decision is interesting, because I enjoy the GBPVR NMT client more than the GBPVR PC client on my Asrock ION, but I guess NMT buyers seem to really just want YAMJ anyway and
don't really understand what power they could have had with mvpmcx2 or with Myka software.

If any of you are interested or have questions make a post, I am not endorsing them or making any money on this, probably just more work bit I'd like to independently confirm that mvpmcx2 runs ok with all file formats. I am sure they have a very limited inventory.

me likey the ion development...Smile they do *seem* to be more open about dev than most..
i wonder if the sw will be available separately?
that's a sweet fanless case and ports on the the correct sides...lol
[usb/audio in front]

but those $99 white units look like an excellent a100 alternative, i like the usb client port on back..[to faster load files on hd]
that was my biggest complaint about the a100's...
thanx for the heads up..Big Grin

Since they sell TB drives I'd assume SATA not PATA, but without NMT apps' will you be able to use it? If there is enough interest I will forward on the questions.
