Martin,

This is awesome, you are Da Man!!! My wife was so excited to see the Exit and Channel (Page) Up/Down buttons work on the MVP remote she almost hopped out of the chair! Thank you for all the hard work, you've really made her day.

Thanks again,
-Brad

Any chance of tweaking the title of this thread?? I'm remote from my machine, installing at a friends and it took a long time to find this.
any of these tacked onto the end of the title would help - lirc, hauppauge remote .

cheers
Martin

What about starting with the wiki? http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardware/NMT It consolidates a lot of information and points back to relevant threads.

Sorry about that - I had even been reading that very wiki entry the day before to see where I might go wrong !!
I obviously never scrolled down far enough to the bit at the end.

Vast apologies for not rtfm'ing. I'll be going back today, seems he has "request cannot be processed" problems at times.
Then I'm going to get rid of my internal NMT drive and try to get the scripts onto my dlink nas (or chicken out and move them to a USB stick).

Another thing you could try is edit the Network Share source to use smb://ip/hostname The network name in there has to rely on the master browser services on the LAN which aren't perfect. I'd take a USB keyboard since I'm all thumbs when it comes to texting on a cell/remote.

Thanks, Ah, yes, using the IP address for the server rather than the name - excellent suggestion, finding a master browser when the server has only just come up can take a while.
I'm also useless with phone/remote text entry - clumsy hands and poor eyesight/memory of where the damn letters are.......

thanks again
