I'm running GB-PVR on a WinXP - x64 OS. And using a HVR-1700.
The channels are entered based on frequencies.

Besides not being able to switch channels (see other post with this title), there are also some other, minor issues.

Somehow, the web interface does not store changes made via the config tab.
Everything goes back to defaults.

Moreover, this Ajax web interface shows the time in AM/PM format. And not 24 hrs format like the PVRX2 client.
Updating the web interface to its latest version doesn't help. Moreover, in this case, another problem shows up.
Every time the configurator is started, the message 'Please wait while windows configures...' pops up.
I made sure I followed the installation manual to the letter by removing the drivers and GB-PVR. And re-installed everything from scratch.

I also noticed that the x64 version of ffdshow is not recognized by GB-PVR.

Anyone having the same kind of glitches? And was able to solve it?

gbpvr only talks to 32 bit decoders..it's a 32 bit program..
just install 32 bit ver and it'll work fine..

you must set password and use it to log into web interface and enable cookies in browser for it to save config..
UJB should know other things to check also..

I did all those things. But still no luck.
I tried with FF and IE. The results where the same.

Do a search on your system for config.XML and delete all but the one inthe gbpvr folder
make sure you have enabled your channels and they show in favourites
signin as admin

For the windows installer coming up with the please wait etc, there should be an entry in the event viewer saying why it started the installer service.
Usuaqlly it's because some folder / file has been removed from the GBPVR folder.

Did you change where gbpvr installed to
ie it should be c:/program files/dennz/gbpvr

The installer is complaining about the file ManageNav.ascx.cs not being there. If I copy that from the previous version and restart the recording service, it complains about some style sheet in themes directory. But that file IS there. After this, I stopped. And restored the original web dir.

And yes, I did change the default install directory. Since I'm on WinXP x64, the default points to 'C:\Program Files (x86)'. Then I have choosen 'System\GBPVR'.

There is only one config.xml. And that's located in the GBPVR directory. The channels are enabled and showed in favorites.

While searching the event log, I found this:
.NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting
EventType clr20r3, P1 config.exe, P2 1.0.3552.16178, P3 3b, P4 config, P5 1.0.3552.16178, P6 3b, P7 78, P8 0, P9 system.io.filenotfoundexception, P10 NIL.
It looks like config.exe, the GBPVR config program, is causing .Net a hard time. Or is it the other way around.
I noticed that the .net service was not running. The service was set to manual. I changed it to automatic. And restarted the GBPVR service.
Now, the error is gone.

Does anyone know if not running the .net service is affecting the installation process? And if yes, to what extend?

It didn't resolve any of the other things. So any suggestions that might be helpfull are welcome.

There's a known issue, related with EWA. Since you have a fresh install, you might as well upgrade to the latest EWA version
( http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...edWebAdmin ), and then install the Season Recordings Manager ( http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Enhan...ngsManager ).

If the Config popup problem is related with this specific issue, installing the Season Recordings Manager _will_ solve your problem, period. IIRC the issue began with a couple of files from this plugin being deployed with the base EWA install. Thus the installation always appears to be broken, due to missing files. Upgrading the base EWA is just a bonus ;-)

Well - what happens is that GB-PVR is still installed in the 'program files (x86)' folder.
Regardless the folder name I'm pointing it to.
Any other foldername after this (x86) is accepted. But doesn't bring any improvements.
