Please do not reply to spam messages as it takes longer for them to be identified as spam when scanning the new threads list.

If a real member has replied to a message it gives it some credibility. This means that a forum moderator like myself might not spam-kill it, or at the very least has to open up the thread and spend a minute reading the replies to check it really is spam.

I think the forum has a 'mark as spam' button although I've never seen it (possibly due to my mod account status).

Gotcha. I was able to report as spam before, but not anymore. I will just stay hush. Thanks for the heads up.

For us, normal mortals, there is a little triangle (on the left of the bottom bar of a message), which you can click to report a post. I never used it, because I don't know if it is helpful for moderators.

We get email messages from the "report a post" tool, providing a link.

But do you want up mortals t report posts or is it too "noisy" if we do. I guess with the international spread of users, someone will see a new spam very quickly. One forum I frequent automagically "hides" a thread once a certain number of reports are made so that mods can get at least some sleep during each 24 hours Smile

I would say it's only worth reporting a post as spam if it's been around a few days as it's likely that the mods have missed it.

I know when I wake up and visit in the A.M., my good friend McBainUK has already sheathed his sword, so there is little for me to do. Smile
