Hi sub,

I'm testing my DVB-T dual-tuner with the MDPlugins...

I have my tuner's setup to run one instance (of the MDPlugin I assume) but I still see that the following:

- I'm recording an encrypted channel on one transponder, and the recording is starting...
- I'm schedule another recording on a channel that sits on the same transponder

What I'm getting is an exception in NPVR and the following behaviour:

Atteched are my log-files as well...

I'm also getting some strange behaviour when I do schedule the other recording (on another transponder) on the second tuner.. I haven't been able to reproduce it cleanly though...

Regards,

You need to set the number of instances to at least two if you want to decrypt two channels on the same transponder at the same time. NPVR will create a map for each instance (in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\MDPlugins) where you can place your multidec plugin. If you're using newcs you'll need to create an account for each instance in your newcs setup.

Hey,

I was testing to see what "NPVR" would do with the encrypted channels. I was hoping it would limit the amount of recordings per tuner to the number of MulitDec instances defined for that tuner... (that would make perfect sense to me). Trying to help sub make things better Wink

I have also done some tests with instances set to "2" for each tuner and 4 different userid's on newcs, but haven't had much success with regards to stability. I may try to get a "reproducable" fault before I post anything on that though...

Have you done any "Digitenne" or "Ziggo" testing yet? Especially with dual tuners? I was thinking this may work for dual tuner recordings from Ziggo....

I'v run 3 tuners with four instances each on encrypted channels for some weeks now, very rarely more than 2 instances used simultanously, but works like a charm.

Yes, I've been doing this with 3 dvb-c tuners for Ziggo, each having 3 instances, so 9 accounts in newcs Smile.
I agree about the limiting of recordings based on the number of instances. Sub mentioned the current method is quite complicated and not something to adjust quickly. But we should mention it.
