I always set the recording quality to "high", since I reencode the captured movies afterwards anyway. Therfore it would like to be able to change the default recording quality. Or, can it already be done inside the configuration file (as far as I remember config.xml)?

I'm not sure if Sub allows you to change the default from medium to high but what you can do is redefine the medium settings and make them the same as the high quality ones. This will create the same effect for you.

Cheers,
Colin.

And you do it in the control panel. It's inside the tab where you set the card, channels, etc.

Just edit the "Medium" settings in config to whatever you want.
I too re-encode just about everything, so I cap at 12000kbps.

On that note, how about renaming "Medium" to "Default" in the next release?
It would make more sense, then add a "Medium" setting as well. Redundant, but might help the beginners make more sense of the settings.

Yes, I've already done this for the next release, but I'm sure it wont stop people asking...

If you could eliminate 50% of the "how do I change recording settings" questions, then it's a good thing Smile
