???
what about my post makes you think I don't know precisely what an alternate data stream is? in fact my post makes no sense at all if you presume I don't know what an alternate stream is.

ah, yes, I see where reading quick you might have thought something completely different. on further review, my response post also seems a little impolite... sorta felt like I was being called stupid, but that really wasn't the case at all. let's have a quick man-hug, and call it a day

Don't worry, I didn't think you were being impolite at all. I can understand your confusion. Big Grin

You guys are making it too complicated (man hugging aside)

I would say the ts file is exactly the same format but there is also ADS data on digital broadcast

Code:
01/08/2010  11:00 AM         5,114,728 The Nature of Things_20100801_11001200.ts
                                   202 The Nature of Things_20100801_11001200.ts:Timing.Info:$DATA

well, yeah, that's exactly what I said in my post before Bill confused matters. sub created his own extension to the .ts format by adding timing info in an ADS; only a program looking for the timing info (like sub's ts reader) will see the timing stream; any other program will just ignore it and see a normal .ts file. and I still think it's a very clever solution to the problem.

I suspect it does, martin & bill (and others) certainly already have the code; presumably us mere mortals will get our hands on it soon..

no worries, just kidding around. it's just that your next release clearly has so many fixes, improvements and new features it's hard not to sit around salivating for it...

or perhaps I should just get a life?
