Hello all,

Thanks for the great work so far!! I am new to NPVR and have just followed the progress of this new Plug-In. I have decided to go ahead and try this alpha version but something does not seem to be working for me. I have the Netflix option on the NPVR menu and once I click to enter the Plug-In I get the next screen with the logo in the bottom left corner but no other options in the middle of the screen. I have run the updater a few times and also restarted the system yet nothing shows up. The updater also errors out to a windows error notification after the "0 posters failed to download" message in the DOS window. Does anyone know what may be wrong with my install? I started with the first version and upgraded as the thread progressed hoping that one of the updates would fix the issue but it has not.

Any help would be great!!!

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

When the windows erro notification pops up, it should give you a textbox with a stack trace (bunch of code mumbo jumbo). Can you highlight the text and paste it here? It should tell me where it's erroring.

I do not get an option to see the errors. It is happening near the end of the Netflix.Updater. Just after the statement of "0 posters failed to update". It then wants me to send a Microsoft Error report. All of the Box Art is in the media folder but I don't know if the database is filled with the rest of what it needs from the update. When I return to NPVR and select Netflix on the main menu it does advance to the Netflix page with the logo in the bottom left, All Movies title, 0/1 in the bottom right and upon mouse over in the top left the options for Back View and Sort. Am I missing a needed download? I installed the 3.5 SP1 as well as the ADO.net as stated. This is a new build PC with Windows XP Pro.

I'll have a patch for you tonight that will provide me with more debug information.

Something must have changed as the updater will display this same behavior on a system that had worked previously.
When I tried to install this on a new machine I noticed that after the titles have been downloaded I can see the database growing as it updates it but then it goes back to empty when this error pops up.

Yup, I found this out last night. I have to find out what has changed in their data field and fix it in the code. I'll have a fix by tomorrow.

Hopefully they don't make a habit of this. I'm going to copy the database from my test machine that I got working to my server machine in the mean time. Thanks for your work on this. The family loves it.

so I take it I shouldn't update my database until you have a patch ready? I was just about to do it as I've seen some new stuff on netflix's site that doesn't show up in the plugin.

Yeah, I'd skip the update for now. I might have a patch tonight but it will be late (after my wife goes to sleep).

no worries for me, since I have a working database; just wanted to clarify that I shouldn't update.
