I've updated http://www.gbpvr.com/NPVRSetup.exe to v 1.5.31

If you're upgrading from an earlier build of 1.5.x, you need to make sure you stop the NPVR software before installing. In future releases I'll make this automatic, but thats not the case yet.

Mostly just small changes and bug fixes in this release:
Quote:- slight improvements and bug fixes on the new .ts skipping (extending it to NMT playback etc).
- several timing.info related changes to support mvpmcx2 skipping
- reduced activation area around button strip
- fixed a problem where closed captions could appear when playing DVDs in north america
- added <ForceMpgGraph> setting for those that prefer to disable the default 'true' and allow directshow to decide on the graph.
- added work around for ffdshow decoder problem with DVD playback
- added SRT subtitle support
- slightly improved text rendering
- fixed a bug with initial video aspect ratio
- added ability to view tv guide over live tv.
- fixed an aspect ratio problem that could occur in certain circumstances
- fixed a problem with the selected audio renderer sometimes not being used
- added logic to send .ts files to MVP if <TranscodeTsForMVP> is set to false.
- added manual recording popup. This provides more functionality than GBPVR's equivalent, with an 'advanced rules' field that can be used to define some fairly complicated conditional rules. Eventually I may create a popup to create the rules for people, but for now they can either leave the advanced field alone, or write a sql clause. For example, to record all shows with the 'news' in the title on a particular channel, you can define a daily recording and set the advanced rules to: title like '%news%'
- fixed an issue with wake before recording being requested relative to the start time, rather than the beginning of the prepadding.
- added a setting to force digital graphs to stay constructed, giving slightly quicker live tv / recording startup times, and to hopefully work around a problem with HDHR device.
- fixed a problem with additional files (edl, txt etc) not being deleted when old recording are auto deleted to satisfy the 'keep' count, or when deleted from the Video Library.
- fixed a couple of bugs with the playlist popup in the music library.
- fixed an issue that could cause temporary files to be left behind after watching live tv.
- fixed an audio renderer problem.
- fixed an issue that could cause live tv files to be left behind
- fixed a schedule issue that was causing problems with recordings scheduled from NEWA
- when live guide is started from live tv, it starts on current channel

Intriguing - I shall be giving this a some time to try.

In the old gbpvr-days, there was an option to save subtitles as a .srt file while recording, is it possible to get that option back?

First impressions are that my glitchy audio is a lot better (so far no problems on channels that used to give grief) :-)

Sorry - its unlikely that'll be added. A lot of effort would be required to implement this. Instead, it'd be better to spend the time implementing teletext subtitle support, and subtitles can be viewed directly from the .ts file. The only reason the option existed in GBPVR was because it wasnt possible to store the original subtitle stream in the .mpg/.dvr-ms recordings. That isnt the case with .ts files.

Ah great!

Let me rush to say that I'm not ungrateful, this is the best release so far. It's just like in the old junglesaying: Users always want more Big Grin

Thanks for your continued work :-) Just installed the new version.

Have you any more details on this? I have had some unsystematic issues with HDHR recordings, that I have attributed to either a driver issue or the fact that my network card is REALLY late to be ready after resume. On the last item, is it possible for nPVR to sense if it records a file or it is just 0 bytes - thats what happens if it tries to record before netcard is quite ready. I had some other issues with DVB-T recordings also not getting started properly. It is almost always fixed by a restart recording service. Would be nice if it figured it by itself.

you can actually tell windows to make everything else wait till network is ready when it comes back..
save as a .reg file and execute..

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"SyncForegroundPolicy"=dword:00000001
just set that back to 0 to undo if it doesn't do the trick for you..

Thanks a lot for posting this. I'm on W7, so I did not have the setting in the registry. However, from your information, googeling to the W7 solution was easy:

[INDENT][SIZE="1"]1. Click start, write in the search box 'mmc' and press enter.
2. Once open go into, File->Add/Remove Snap in..
3. Choose Group Policy Object Editor and click Add.
4. In the wizard that pops-up, it should read, under 'Group Policy Object' 'Local Computer'. Click 'Finish'
5. Click 'OK'
6. Navigate to Local Computer Policy/Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Logon
7. Find the 'Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon', open it, and set it to 'Enabled'
8. Apply it, next time your logon will be slightly longer, but you wont get that notification.
[/SIZE][/INDENT]
I'll se how it goes - just applied the settings, waiting for a recording to finish before I can test.
