Is there a way to get this extra info on previous recordings, I mean like running some commandline utility to create this extra info or MUST it be created at recording time?
Sorry no there isnt. In theory a utility could be created to add this info, but I wont have time to do that.

The skipping issues in this thread are related only to the new timing info added in 1.5.28 .ts files. I found skipping in pre-1.5.28 .ts files to be the same as with GB-PVR.

I'm a bit confused over this now. Can you see if this patch helps?

no, it didn't help. skipping is the same as with the original patch; I didn't bother testing the resume function.

(for anyone following along and confused now, we're working on a problem from here: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...blem/page2 where the patch for that issue re-introduced skipping issues the same as or very similar to what was originally identified and fixed in this thread)

Can you see if this gets the skip working again? As far as I can remember, its back to where it started out.

yes, the skips work fine again in that patch, but the resume is broken again (which I'm guessing you were expecting)

Yep, and I'm fine with that Big Grin

We'll worry about that another day.

sub, this new patch still seems to have a problem with skip timing. The relative timing seems ok; that is, 10 seconds skips seem to skip 10 seconds, etc. But the absolute timing is off - by that I mean skip timing for comskip. In the shows I've watched the last few days the comskip auto-skips have been so early I've had to skip back through every commercial to watch as much as 10-15 seconds of the show that was lost. They're not always that bad, but always a lot further off than they used to be with 1.5.28+the original patch.

I have not had time yet to put the original 1.5.31 unmanaged.dll back on and verify that the same exact recordings auto-skip better, but these are all shows I watch routinely and I've never had this much trouble with comskip.

I'm not expecting you do to anything yet, just wanted to give you the heads-up that the code in that last patch likely still isn't right.

As far as I can tell, you're exactly back to where you were before the patch. ie, I've undone the one line code change that this patch consisted off. Given it was such a small change, I'm sure I've not introduced anything new.

The comskip stuff can be off if you've lost any data during a recording, like a brief signal dropout. Maybe this is what you saw?
