I can't get the EPG to update. I thought it might be a bad xmltv file but I moved one that is working on another box with npvr so I know the xmltv file is good. In the setup screen I pick channels and then update EPG. The box comes up and says Updating EPG Please Wait, then just dies. It never moves on to the box that says checking for xmltv file. I emptied and reinported the analog tuner and even moved the xmltv file to a new location and it all behaves the same. I also tried to update just the digital channels (only 4) and same thing. The log says EPG update tread starting and then Updating EPG, then nothing else

What is the best way to troubleshoot this? I am on the latest release. Data from mc2xml.

Hit the 'Update EPG' button, then post the npvr.log and I'll take a look.

Any thoughts on this? I have tried several different xmltv files that work on another machine with NPVR. It never gets past the "Updating EPG" stage. What does it have to see to move on to the "Looking for xmltv file" stage?

I cant see any obvious sign of errors in that log. How big is the xmltv file?

Based on the spot your logs stopped, it looks like it ran an UpdateEPG.bat file, but that batch file hasnt completed.

That was it. I did something really boneheaded.:o I added a pause to the end of the batch to see how many channels and events it was finding to make sure it worked. I forgot to remove it and since I knew I had a good file I never looked at the batch file again. Thanks and sorry for wasting your time.
