I did this to start with. Could not import my recurring recordings because all my channels are gone! Please PLEASE don't tell me I have to remap all the channels againt across all my tuners Sad :'<

It's 5 tuners and a lot of channels - I would much rather have the channels saved and then have to set up any recurrinr recordings manually than the opposite...

well, yeah, sorry, you do have to re-setup your capture sources and re-map your channels. No way around that as far as I know. I can see you do have a complicated setup. I just hope your errors go away after you do this; if it turns out they were caused by something else you're really going to hate me.

Big Grin

Not at all - I really do appreciate you and others trying to help. I would rather that this is a local problem than it's a weird well hidden bug that Sub has to spend time on finding and fixing in stead og building new and better things... Smile

Still hate to have to set all the stuff up again though... Sad

Do you happen to have a backup of your database from some time ago that has all your tuners and channels but well before any problems occurred.??
It is one of the things I make sure I have after spending much effort into mapping channels. Recreating recording entries and EPG stuff is comparatively easy compared to the initial setup.

Yes - I agree Martin. The setup is a major task in comparison to simple re-setup of scheduling. I don't think I have a relevant semi-old database copy, but according to the following, even the current one seems ok. (I have db copies both pre- and post).

Today, I looked at the database with a few tools from the net. It seemed to be sane and intact, and I got no errors or other alarms from the tools. Also, except for the double recordings, the system was running just fine.

So in the spirit of avoiding a complete reinstall, I have looked at the errors in the logs, that apparently all was referring to some specific recurring recording entries created mid-august.

I've simply deleted all the recurring entries that the logs complained about (10 different I've seen in the logs) from within n-PVR.

To test if it helped, I have reloaded EPG, restarted, rescheduled and whatnot. After the deletion above, I have no errors in the logs, and no double recordings. It seems that the now removed recurring recording entries contaminated the database and scheduling logic, and their removal has cleared up some (all?) of the issues.

Now I'm keeping a very close eye on the system for a couple of weeks. Hope I'm back to normal... Smile

given the complexity of your channel setup, what you've done is probably the better way to go. I tend to think of problems in terms of my own setup, which would take all of five minutes to re-create.
I wonder if sub might be talked in to creating a utility or command line option for nextpvr.exe that would dump everything from the database EXCEPT the capture sources and channels. I suppose for a SQL guru it would probably be pretty simple.

A good idea - or maybe even suggest to specifically make a channel export facility to be able to import it again. I know I could have used one on several occasions during my life with GBPVR and setting up new machines for myself or others.

That sounds even better, just add a "capturesource-backup.xml" that includes the capture sources, channels, and epg mapping. That way one could re-create almost their entire database from scratch. Of course I still think the backup XML's need to be stored with the recordings instead of with the database, but that's another thread (in fact, it's this one: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...ding-drive)
