If there is certain shows consistent not being pulled out of the stream, you might need to do a 1 minute 'full ts' recording in GBPVR and make the file available somewhere for me to take a look. I can run it up in the debugger to see what it doesnt like about those shows.

Sub - generally the entire channel will have no data, then on the next try it is complete, and so on. Out of the 4 ABC channels I have in my EPG on most occassions at least one of them will have no data. But the empty channel changes from update to update.

Reddwarf - I did take a look at the files but not a line by line compare. As dvbguide was consistently providing me with 1877 records and the nature of the fault I am seeing on NPVR is that 5 consecutive updates perfrormed within seconds of each other showed random amounts of data the record count appeared to be a good indicator. I will take another look tonight when I have more time.

Start the app, do an empty epg, then restart the app. Do an 'update epg'. Wait for it to complete. Visit the TV Guide, and post the npvr.log, and the names of channels that have no data, and I'll take a look.

Does it work if you update from the xmltv-file you get from DVBGuide?

Sub, I have attached 4 log files taken one immediately after the other.
Note that I cleared the log files each time before performing the requested sequence.

These are the empty channels for each log file.
Logs1: Ch 6 "7-1", Ch 7 "7-2"
Logs2: All ok
Logs3: Ch 7 "7-2", Ch 12 "7mate"
Logs4: Ch 6 "7-1", Ch 1 "SBS1"

I will have a crack at that on the weekend when I have more time. I need to familiarize myself with DVBGuide as until you recommended looking at it I had not used it before. It gave me an xml file for the ABC channels but I had not yet worked out whether I could simply give it a list of carrier frequencies for the other channels or whether I would need to run it separately for each carrier frequency and then concat the files. I am guessing I will need to setup a little batch to dump and concat the files. Anyhow - job for the weekend. But with any luck Sub will find something in the logs above that explains the gaps in the data.

Reddwarf - thanks for your batch file.

Here's one for Melbourne incase anyone else needs it.

@echo off
C:
CD \DVBCollector
del /Q *.xml
dvbguide -fX -aT -c177500 -e60 -b7 -oc:\DVBCollector\EPG1.xml
dvbguide -fX -aT -c191625 -e60 -b7 -oc:\DVBCollector\EPG2.xml
dvbguide -fX -aT -c219500 -e60 -b7 -oc:\DVBCollector\EPG3.xml
dvbguide -fX -aT -c226500 -e60 -b7 -oc:\DVBCollector\EPG4.xml
dvbguide -fX -aT -c536625 -e60 -b7 -oc:\DVBCollector\EPG5.xml
Xmltvmerge EPG1.xml EPG2.xml EPG3.xml EPG4.xml EPG5.xml /output:EPG.xml

xmltvmerge would not work withou the xmltv.dtd file. I found one on the gbpvr wiki but do you know where to download the latest ?

Sub, Reddwarf,

I have performed 5 consecutive updates with DVBGuide and loaded the data into NPVR. The data is always consistent.

Ok, so that rules out your provider and your capturecard, and you have a temporary solution that works Smile
