as far as I know NPVR only uses the .edl file. Is this correct?

I don't think a different comskip.ini will help. the default comskip marks the commercials just about perfectly. the problem is NPVR and comskip don't agree on the timeline.

I may want to set that option anyway to disallow skips during the first 90 seconds, as I often find that if it does skip that soon it's probably skipping the opening scene of the show.

always_keep_first_seconds=90 ; don't have first few seconds commercial so that GBPVR can get "in sync"
