Videos Menu - Poor Network Behavior (Unhandled Exception)

Unhandled Exception error on network shares has gone.
I still get 10 second delay going in to the Video Menu for the first time and on 2 or more levels of remote enter after. (After the first time it seems to remember the contents for 1 level)

I also get a similar unhandled Exception error on an external usb hard drive if the power is off.

May be a pop up message of "Drive not found" or similar would be less scary than the standard "if you click continue, the application will ignore the error and attempt to continue.
In the past this was usually the message of impending doom

See if this helps with the handling of an unavailable drive. It should get rid of the error message you saw.

The delay you're getting is still likely to happen - this is just the Window file system is taking a long time to respond when I ask it for information (like when I ask it for the list of files and it discovers the directory is not available and has some internal attempt to reestablish the connection). There isnt really anything I could do to avoid this. You'd find this problem would go away if you werent using local drives instead of network ones.

Maybe if I create a network folder in Videos with links to the remote folders it would at least stop it slowing down the local access. - I'll give it a try.

I'm not sure whether there are hidden stability fixes in these patches or removing silverlight, dot net 4 and installing latest 3.5 updates solved many of the jitters that I have been having. But for the last 2 days watching & Recording has been perfect.

Just discovered links to network folders don't work - but mapping the 2 network folders I want to drive letters and having them at the bottom of the Videos List means no delay until you try to go down on to the link. This is perfectly acceptable
