I've got a variety of Haipad M701 I wouldn't recommend it as a general tablet at this stage either. I got it because the chip it uses is in some extenders too.

Now that the A-200 is about $150, it would be hard for me to ignore that and go with a refurbished A-110. I sure hope you and Sub manage to get it working. I thought A-200 has support for HE-AAC?

Martin,
Is there a link to PCH a-200 SDK? I am trying to figure out if there is anything I can do to help with A-200 support.

Sorry there is nothing to test. I was close to a release but Syabas updated the Sigma libraries used on the 200 series, and now I cannot even compile a compatible version. I haven't decided if I want to do this all over again.

Tough to say what it would take at this point, my 100 series machines are working so well something probably needs to stop working for me Syabas are still keeping it relatively current, they are working on playing files with mkv header compression now. I felt the response to my last release with benefits for NPVR and GBPVR was really disappointing, since I thought there were some real nice improvements, especially for seeking in NPVR that would have cause a few comments.

As for money that won't help, but if sub finds a way to accept support make sure you let him know you like the extender support.

If you mean by end users, I personally tried it once and it worked fine. I am still waiting for NPVR to come out of Beta before full upgrade. I agree with you on the 100s series being adequate for now, however for new users and new purchases that is not an option. For users buying a PCH for NPVR support, they will not do it until that is the case. I would not have bought my two PCHs if you did not create mvpmcx2.

As for "something needs to stop working" well, just expose your PCHs to the internet and send me your IP address, and I will take care of that.

I asked about PCH SDK to see if there is anything I help out with to move this forward, I still write code from time to time.

Martin,
Having read your sentiments several times recently, I need to respond. Please keep up the good work!

I just purchased a refurb A-110 to go along with my refurb A-100, and retire my last MVP (need to update my sig). The PCH NMT's work so well with GBPVR/MVPMCX2 that I just can't get myself to switch over to NPVR yet. The new television season has started here in the USA, with (too) many recordings each day, and the WAF would take a serious hit with any disruption right now. I just started recording HD this season (Comcast ClearQAM only) for my new 46" Sony LED, and I'm still tweaking for that, and of course had my recording hard drive fail at the worst possible time. Now I look forward to Comcast dropping my analog cable, forcing me to digital, losing my analog tuners, and figuring that all out.

I'm just going step by step down the digital TV road, and NPVR will be one of those steps soon. I am playing with NPVR, love what I see, and do look forward to implementing it, particularly if there are seeking improvements. I'm sure when that day comes, you will get your share of questions and comments from me. Maybe my case is typical of other users, who have benefited greatly from your outstanding effort, and sub's, to create a very stable system that our families now enjoy and can't do without. Perhaps we have not yet reached the tipping point for users switching to NPVR. Maybe that will happen when it is released from beta.

I do try to keep up with all the improvements, but can't comment until I take the plunge. Just one voice from the wilderness to say thank you for your effort, and please carry on.

Roy
