v1.5.33 - Audio micro-glitching

I didn't reinstall SAF and all my stuff is playing fine.

The audio problem I think is the same problem I posted about also.

Regarding glitchy audio, I have re enabled the AC3 decoder and my first impressions were that this release is better than the previous one, but I'm not convinced it's 100%. However I've not had a chance to test it enough. To be sure, I need to watch at least an hours uninterrupted live TV to see if it deteriorates or not... I will try and do so this ev and post back. Although I've not reinstalled SAF, will doing so make a difference?

Hi all,

Did some testing.............Here's what I did:-

Uninstalled SAF5. Re-downloaded latest beta, installed it.
Tried to run nPVR but crashes even before the GUI starts.
Installed nPVR over the top of itself. No luck.
Uninstalled SAF5. No luck.
Restored a backup copy of config.xml I had put aside..........now nPVR is working, albeit .mkv's are broken since I don't have SAF5 installed.

So then, tried installing SAF5 again. nPVR not working, crashes before it gets to GUI.
Restored backup of config.xml again. nPVR working but .MPG's won't play.

Uninstalled SAF5, then immediately run nPVR (without touching config.xml) and .MPG's are fine (well, some but not all).

So, I can't have .MKV's & .MPG's working at the same time.

Can somebody post their config.xml that works with SAF5 installed and where .MPG's & .MKV's play (video). I'd like to try some digging/comparison.

I don't have SAF but it looks like you have AC3 audio disabled.

Try setting it to ffdshow and setting <ForceMpgGraph> to "true"

Without SAF or ffdshow, I can play all known (well almost) filetypes using CCCP and the Cyberlink decoders.

I've got SAF 5 (a recent version) but have not reinstalled it since upgrading npvr... and from what you've said I'm not going to either!! I'll post my config.xml anyway later when I'm at home.

FIXED..............here's how:-

When SAF5 is installed it modifies config.xml..........and corrupts it. I ran the same thing twice and it's repeatable.

<DVDVideoRenderer/DVDVideoRenderer>

Should be:-

<DVDVideoRenderer>EVR</DVDVideoRenderer>

So now, on boot nPVR no longer crashes, but still no .MPG...................so then I changed <ForceMpgGraph> to false and now I'm able to play .MPG as well as .MKV

I'm a happy Scotsman................Will do some more testing tonight just to make sure everything is ok.

Something must changed in new nPVR, <DVDVideoRenderer>EVR</DVDVideoRenderer> was not in previous version.
As i wrote i didnt test SAF on new nPVR yet.
I will fix that in next SAF version, thanks for reporting.
