It's a codec pack from Hoborg (see the sticky at the top of the wishlist forum) that many of us have found extremely useful for getting good results.

Ok, thanx! I'll give it a look.

Ok, bumping this thread. I too have issues with audio micro glitching in this version as well as the former 1.5.31.
The audio is Ok, then at intervals of say 15-30 seconds I get a glitch. Sounds like a "krtch" with a duration of a tenth or so of a second. So it is barely audible. But it is clearly there. I get this in LiveTV. Not sure I get it in recordings, need to investigate that further.

This is primarily with MPEG audio. I have tried several decoders like Microsoft DVD-DTV, ffdshow and the decoder that comes with N-PVR (I think). Same issues with all. I have a newly installed win7 x64 box with default MS drivers for the audio device " Realtek 883 High Definition Audio". Any ideas?

@Barsk

Try disabling all other audio decoders and see if it stops. If it does, then its probably the same thing a lot of us are getting. Mine is more than just a tiny glitch here and there, on certain channels and certain shows, it gets so bad its pretty much unwatchable.. or I guess I should say unhearable Smile

We seem to have a good few threads about audio glitches so am not sure where's best to post this, but I have managed to test this morning and confirm that the problems I had with 1.5.31 and glitchy audio when mpeg and AC3 encoders are defined and the problem getting worse over time (~1 hour) have gone away. 1.5.33 seems to fix the problem nicely. I left it on BBC1 (an mpeg audio channel that used to be almost unlistentoable after an hour) for 2 hours and the audio was still perfect. While AC3 was also configured and working fine with BBC HD. This was using SAF but not reinstalling it after upgrading to 1.5.33. It was using ffdshow for both mpeg and AC3 audio - all spdif out to an amp.

I'll try the test again with a channel that started off with worse glitches than BBC1.

@BigMoose

Sounds like your conditions are exactly the same as mine, yet mine has the problem pretty badly. You might want to try testing more than one channel, because this I notice is much worse on certain channels or while certain type of content is playing. Can you give me more details about your system so I can compare it to mine?

I "think" I had an audio problem with SAF 101001 a week or so ago. I rolled back to 100921 and everything is ok again.
But consider this rumour only as I didn't attempt to reproduce it or report it.

I am running SAF5 101001 on windows 7 64 pro, optical spdif out to an amp that decodes DTS/DD. Under 1.5.31 any mpeg audio channel deteriorated over time and the "crapper" DVB-S channels start off fairly crap. As said above on 1.5.33 I left BBC 1 running for 2 hours and it was fine. However I have just tested "true movies" and it was crap from the outset. Couldn't persuade the wife to watch random crap to see if it got worse though! A pause/play did make it sound fine for the couple of minutes I did test. Am curious to see if SAF5 100921 is better for my problem channels or maybe the latest version released today. Will try it later.

One other change in my system since I did the 1.5.31 test is something fried, either the CPU or motherboard so I replaced both. I had a gigabyte 780G (which had realtek audio) and now have an Asus M4A785D-M PRO which I think has some VIA audio. Using a 45w AMD CPU in both cases. These crap channels are fine in GBPVR.

Watching CSI Miami on FIVE (EPG channel 6) the audio started to get pretty glitchy, so I changed channel for a few seconds then back again......glitching gone.

I also notice a bug whereby if you press the up/down direction buttons it'll sometimes come up miles away from the channel you are on. I'd expect it to start off showing the channel I was watching before being able to up/down away from it. You can see this in the video also..........
I'm on channel 6 and when I press the up (or down) button channel 14 appears. I change to 13 and watch it for a few secs......then back to channel 6......where the glitching has gone.

I video'd it, hopefully you can hear the glitching:-
