Does anyone know what the BBCi "channels" are listed as in an nPVR DVB-S scan? In the GBPVR days I used to manually add them to the scan.cache file but I cant do this anymore with npvr. It's not obvious to me what they are all showing up as in the scan - think I've managed to find about 2 of them out of 9 (is there that many? Cant remember...).

I've just done a full scan with DVBViewer and they seem to be STREAM-0 to STREAM-6 and on 12441 Vertical.
This transponder does not seem to be on the dvb-s list - I guess just manually add it and try a scan again.
(Sorry, don't have time to try it at the moment, in the middle of stirring up the big curry pot Wink

Martin

p.s. sometime I'll have a compare of lyngsat and the Astra ini file to double check it.

Ah, that'd explain it, if they're on a TP that's not in the list. I'll add it later and have a go. The ones I did find were STREAM-7 to 9 (or was it 8? There are a couple on another TP anyway). Curry is far more important than PVRs!! Smile

From lyngsat it looks like TP38 is just about dedicated to the streams - scroll down/search for 12441 at http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

Have you managed to scan them in nPVR? Turns out I had previously added that TP to the freesat list but it doesn't return any channels when performing the scan. I've tried it with 0 and 2/3 at the end of the line in the ini file. I've also moved it to the first TP in the list so I dont get bored during the scan while watching it. It does actually attempt to scan the TP but no channels are returned.

I haven't had chance to try it on npvr (tuner in use tonight), I'll give it a try in the morning. I guess they could have a flag that stops them appearing as normal channels?? One for sub I guess. They are certainly handy to have, but knowing what it on what isn't as easy as the single freeview one.

Which configuration file are you using? I can't check whether the streams are actually picked up or not just now, but looking at the raw files, I see that "0280 FREESAT ONLY (28.2E).ini" doesn't contain that t/p, but "0282 ASTRA 2, EUROBIRD 1 (28.2E).ini" and "0282.ini" both seem to.

From memory, I think there's stream-0 through to stream-6, although only 5 of them have actual content, and 1 of them is an "index page". I can't remember what the other contained. Probably nothing, because I only tuned in the main 5. I also seem to recall they were a bit mixed up too, eg, stream-0 might have been the 2nd stream or something daft like that (as far as the index page was concerned).

As for EPG data, I think we're SOL, unlike 301 on Freeview Sad

I added the TP (and a couple of others) to the Freesat only .ini so I didn't have to bother scanning the whole 0282.ini set with all the encrypted stuff. Other TPs I've added scan fine. This one at least looks like it scans but the streams don't appear. Yeah, I know they are messed up alright, I have them all configured on GBPVR. I could never get my head round which was the "menu" channel and what number the others really were, so just scroll through until I find what I'm looking for (Saturday football, or grand prix practices etc). I always meant to number them sensibly e.g. have the menu as 50, what it calls option 1 as 51 etc... Not sure how consistent it is though. For now I'd be happy with just being able to watch them. Not too worried about EPG data as I'm not bothered enough to record them.

I can confirm that they don't get onto the list when scanned (I also added them to the shorter freesat ini file!).
Maybe a full TS recording from gbpvr when sub gets back and has recovered from his travels.

(looking forward to motogp on BBC HD this weekend - I may have to stich Eurosports commentary on it though).

When you scan that frequency, does the channels show up in the xml in the npvr.log? It could just be that they're not marked as a normal video channel.
