From what I understand of AC3Filters settings, it should be possible to use it for decoding MPEG audio, but it does not show up as an option under Settings -> Decoders -> MPEG1 Audio. Or am I misunderstanding completely?

I could be wrong but I don't think it will. It can take an already decoded PCM stream and do stuff with that though.

As far as i understand, it will decode pcm only for dvds. Here's the manual: http://ac3filter.net/files/docs/ac3filte...r_eng.html

Ah, you can give it a "prefered" merrit, so it will decode audio independent from the selected decoder within npvr. Tried already?

Btw., i removed my AC3filter. ATM i am working with ffdshow-tryout beta 7 which is even capable of decoding e-ac3 (and of course all mpeg audio streams). I don't have anymore the problem, that one type of files don't give sound/video.
You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

After submitting the post, I came to think that maybe I could trick npvr to use AC3Filter for MPEG audio, so I edited Config.xml, and it works! Actually, from what I'v seen so far it works excellent, I can see the icon in system tray, I get sound in all my surround speakers, and best of all, it is in perfect sync with the video! Smile

Edit: Sub, can you make AC3Filter an option for MPEG1 audio in the config panel?
