That is it - only the HD channels/transponders are H.264. Attached is a mediainfo export of a recording from gbpvr of one of the streams

Ok - give this a go then. It should identify them as MPEG2.

OK, that seems to have sorted it out. Many thanks yet again.
I'll set it up for the six simultaneous recordings in the morning and report Cool

Martin do they play ok on the PCH? If so does the angle key switch through all the audio streams?

I'm afraid that sample file got zapped before I saw your question - sorry.
The recordings I made this morning certainly play on the PCH but the angle key seems to make no difference. However, it looks like only two audio channels on this mornings. (mediainfo attached).

It looks like GBPVR recorded all 7 streams, but npvr flagged them all as failed with something like "device failed to start". Manually going through the 7 channels from the tvguide and asking for a quick record did let them run. I'm not at the npvr machine, so will post logs later.

You'd have to post the logs. You'll often get 'device failed to start' if the device was in use elsewhere in the system though.

It was the machine with only npvr on it - My logs will be a real mess as I was panicking to make sure I got a recording so went in and got npvr rather than the recording service to record.
I set something similar up for tomorrow morning, with pressure removed from me and see how things go.

Anyway, please consider this thread "fixed" for the original posting - many thanks.

Thanks for this fix sub, much appreciated. Scanned and found the 6 "channels" on one TP (only had time to scan the one TP before the TV was wanted Smile ). Think there's a couple more somewhere but will scan them another day.

I was primarily concerned that mvpmcx2 might detect the wrong audio stream with 4 streams. I will consider this a non-issue unless you let me know.

sub - worked fine this morning - thanks.

Martin - yes, a non-issue as "it just worked". I have an idea that the "filling" transmission when nothing else is broadcast may be the source of the 4 audio recording. I'll try to find one and see what it was.

thanks both.
