The bits to make them, part of my job is designing cables so I have lots of sample boxes from the connector manufacturers, I happened to have an MCX to SMA cable in one of the boxes so I would have just stuck an IEC 169-2 in place of the SMA being careful with strain relief. Turns out I didn't need them though, it comes with an adaptor Smile

I did need to scan all countries and regions to pick up the HD channels, just scanning my local transmitter (Sutton Coldfield) didn't pick them up, oddly it installs as two tuners a "PCTV 80E/290e/460e BDA 2875 TVTuner" Type "DVB-T" and a "PCTV 80E/290e/460e BDA 2875 TVTuner C" Type "QAM" which doesn't seem to do anything.

1st issue, no sound, which I'm guessing is the fact the UK hd is transmitted in HE-AAC. and I can't set an HE-AAC codec (disabled), not sure how that will work on the NMT either.

You can get the Monogram AAC decoder from http://blog.monogram.sk/janos/2009/03/08...oder-0960/. It works well with HE-AAC.

Unfortunately the older NMT's cant do HE-AAC. Only the newer A200/A210 etc do HE-AAC, but unfortunately these are not compatible with mvpmcx2.

I'd appreciate it if you kept us up to date on your progress (I'm in the process of making up my list for Santa Big Grin )

That's a bugger, I hadn't realised UK DVB-T HD was going that way - there again, by the time our local Belmont transmitter is HD enabled, I may have upgraded or Syabas may have tweaked their firmware (well I can wish!). Or the HD channels might go FTA on satellite.

They're only AAC on Freeview HD. On Freesat HD they're Dolby Digital (BBC HD, BBC1 HD, some ITV1 HD regions, Luxe), or mpeg2 audio (the other ITV1 HDs, including London and STV HD).

I have to admit I was tempted to purchase one to see how it works, but C4HD is the only channel I'd gain, and my Freeview reception hasn't been that great of late (they changed the frequencies slightly during the switchover here in August) so it's probably not really worth my while. Plus I'm still using GBPVR; does that even support DVB-T2?

The module "mmacd.ax" may not compatible (sic) with the version of windows you are running. Check if the module is compatible with an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64 bit) version of regsvr.exe.

I'm doing something wrong aren't I? Win 7 home premium (64) btw.

I'm trying it with NPVR via a PCH-A100, great picture but no sound obviously, a quick flick through some old threads suggests an on the fly sound decode using vlc may be possible, but I might be being hopeful.

Interesting that if I've got it right the fact given for not using Dolby digital on Freeview HD is that it would cause a break in sound between programs, yet it is used on satellite, mmmm.

Thats the version I'm using on my 64bit Win7 Home Premium machine. I just start a command prompt with 'run as administrator' then run "regsvr32 c:\path\to\mmaacd.ax".

Ah, run as administrator, recently swapped from xp and still learning, at least linux tells you what it needs.
