Available at the wiki site

2005-05-26 :

Added NavigationArrows? element to the skin file to display a hint for how to navigate through the list of cities if there are multiple entries. Note that the skin.xml skin file has been updated as part of this.

Added a button to add a new area code to the list. Any changes made to the list only apply to the current session and will not be in the list when GBPVR is restarted. The layout of this screen is specified in the weather codes skin.xml file.

Added a button to remove the current area code from the list. Any changes made to the list only apply to the current session.

Download of map is now independent of download of forecast. One can fail and the other will work; display of forecast will happen as soon as forecast information is available

Added a few new weather codes to the list of know types so that fewer weather conditions will display as “Unknown”

The current conditions will now display “Unknown” for pressure, humidity and UV index rather than blanks if no information for these fields is returned from msnbc.com.

When using multiple area codes, the left and right arrow keys will now wrap around to the beginning/end of the list

Control R (the red key) will re-download the forecast. Note that a download in progress dialog will not display while this is going on. Instead, the old forecast will be shown up until the point that the new data is available.

Oops. That is a common dialog that I forgot to include. For now you can get it as part of the video archive plug-in at http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...eoArchiver

I will update the weather plug-in installation sometime tonight or tomorrow.

When installed I receive the "common dialogs" error. I did a search (on my hd) for the xml file and found it in the ZIP. So I copied the required files. Then ran GBPVR. Now I get this error :

Error: the type initializer for "gbpvr.plugins.weather.plugin.getweathercode" threw an excption.

Oddly it also change my main menu. It shifted the menu buttons from the center of the screen to the left. Like the previous version of GBPVR.

I would also put in a vote for a manual installer. The first time I tried to install the current weather plugin it installed itself in the wrong place several times. (other GBPVR folders I had on my HD, like the one I use to back up my GBPvr install).

I don't see how it could change the location of the buttons on your main menu. That is controlled by the skin.xml file for the main menu, and the weather plug-in does not provide one of those. I also don't understand how it could install the plug-in in the wrong place since it pulls the GBPVR installation directory information from the windows registery. If you look in the main gbpvr folder you should see a file called Weatherinstall.log that will tell you what files were installed (and where) and which were skipped because they already existed. Can you post the contents of that file. Also, can you look in your gbpvr.log file and see if there is more detail posted about the exception that was thrown. My first guess is that it is related to a missing skin file or dll.

Thanks

Jeff

P.S. I will create zip file installation too, but given all the complaints from people asking for automatic installers I find the request somewhere between amusing and ironic.

I just had a thought. If you installed the video archive plug-in that does update the main menu skin file to add the video archive panel to it.

I have posted an updated automatic installation program, a zip file for manual installation, and updated source code to the wiki site.

Thanks Jeff, I'll bet that was it. Since I did not install Video Archiave, but found the needed files in a zip file on my HD, I'd have to guess it was an older version.

I'll try the manual install shortly and let you know what happens.

Oh the log you were asking about is gone. I remove all my previous GBPvr installs (and backups) and started over again. Sorry.

Thanks.
