I'm trying to get my remote mapped (via HIP) for controlling NPVR, but some things seem to be the reverse of how they were in GBPVR. For instance, channel changing...

In GBPVR, PageUp meant Channel+ (so you'd go from channel 1 to 2 to 3) and PageDown meant Channel- (3 to 2 to 1). You could also use those buttons to skip a page at a time in the Guide or in lists.

In NPVR, they still skip in the guide/lists as expected (in terms of direction), but they're now reversed for channel changes, ie, PageUp now moves down a channel (3 to 2 to 1), and PageDown goes up a channel (1 to 2 to 3).

To me this is wrong. Have I missed something? If not, is there any chance we can have it back the way it worked in GBPVR please?

+ and - on the numeric keypad do change channels in the direction I'd expect, but they have no effect in the guide. I'd really like to be able to map my Channel+/- buttons so that I can have both bits of functionality.

Thanks

I also noticed the reverse channel changing a couple of days ago but I beleived that I had mapped them opposite in HIP.

I'll reply here...

mvallevand Wrote:I thank your channel mapping are wrong on your Universal Remote. Paging and channel up down should be reversed, think of Channel Up being minus and ChannelDown being plus Its confusing at first until you think of paging up and down through the EPG.

It makes sense if you're viewing the EPG, but it doesn't make sense in normal operation, and is the reverse of every TV's channel up/down buttons I've ever used (in any country).

However...

mvallevand Wrote:If you really hate it you can reverse them in Keymappings.xml

<Key code="Next" command="Channel-"/>
<Key code="PageUp" command="Channel+"/>

Which "fixes" it for me perfectly, so everyone's a winner! PageUp now increases the channel number in Live TV, yet still jumps "up" a page in the EPG.

Thanks

The npvr mapping being reversed with page up/down was just a mistake, and switched it to the same as GBPVR in the next release.
