HDHR no channels on scan

I'm trying to migrate from GBPVR to NPVR, and I can't set up my HDHR tuners, which are working in GBPVR. They show as enabled, but don't yield any channels on scan. Turned off the Windows firewall just in case. Are there special settings required for these tuners like with GBPVR? All the relevant posts I've found are in the GBPVR support thread.

Will attach logs, but first thought I'd see of there is a step I need to take that I'm missing.

Never mind. I don't know what combination of all the things I tried was the magic pill, but channels are now detected.

Any chance you could detail some of what you tried? I am having exactly the same problem... although I am new to NPVR/GBPVR... I have just been using VMC with the HD HomeRun...

I am pretty sure I tried each of the following in isolation, but all at once, I am now scanning channels...
1) Disable Firewall
2) Disable Antivirus (microsoft secutity essentials)
3) Run NPVR as an adminstrator

Wahoo! Can't wait to get this running and use my PCH A110 to watch TV!

Glad you got it working.

For me it was a combination of turning off the windows firewall, setting the application in the HDHR config from GBPVR to a generic setting, turning off the GBPVR recording service, rebooting, setting the HDHR application back to GBPVR, turning the services off again.

I think the actual problem was the firewall, though I really don't know if something else made a difference and I just didn't have the combination right. Setting up the windows firewall exceptions for NextPVR.exe and Nrecord.exe is pretty easy, so now the firewall is back on and all is working. Next time I'd do that first, since a reboot turns the firewall back on, and it's easy to forget that you have to turn it off again.

After getting past finding the channels, the install was a breeze. It's so much easier to manage channels in nPVR!
