The link with install instructions is a couple of posts up #24. Attached is a new one.

Note it is still demo only not an official plugin, I will need to see how this will work with sub's http support.

Got it, thanks,
Will see what I can do with it tonight.
Re: "sub's http support"... is that a part of this current version you linked to? If so, what steps do I take to try/test that feature?

Right now this version doesn't have full NPVR support. You still will be able to test by navigating PlayOn in NPVR and then it will launch Windows Media Player to play the video. You still need to click play when the file has buffered enough and click stop to close WMP. What you are really testing now is the quality and to check the Technical Issues covered here http://www.playon.tv/faq ie you can check to see how your server handles transcoding and see if being able to only navigate backwards is ok.

Support from sub will be needed to integrate this for the full NPVR look and feel.

Wow, this is going to be cool to have this built into NPVR. I installed this plugin this morning. Should I be able to play a netflix video on my NMT at this point? I couldn't get that to work. I was able to navigate the menus on netflix and the other services. Thanks Martin for all your work!!

Sorry, you won't be able to access UPnP audio or video at all from the NMT at this point, but like the PC, if sub makes a few changes for .35 my testing with YouTube, Vevo and PBS on the NMT has been positive. Earlier this week I found out that YouTube was available in the "free" version which helped me adjust some timings, and I feel that YouTube playback not too bad on my NMT. I don't think I could equate the experience of watching a 5 minute video or 1/2 an hour of the "Antique Road Show" to a 2 hour Netflix movie, but I am interested in getting that feedback.

I've streamed netflix movies a number of times using Playon with my NMT. Its not Hi-Def, but its pretty decent. The only problem I've had is occasionally the movie will get choppy, but that usually clears up if I pause the video a little bit. Also I've found that when I try to start a movie the first time it will kick you back out to the playon menu and then when you try and play it again the movie starts(might be a buffering issue?). The Playon interface with Netflix isn't the greatest, there's no movie description or dvd cover art. If your just browsing for a movie to watch your better off using your pc to find the movie and then putting it in your queue. Also wish they would stream new releases.

Blue Racer, the buffering start is something PlayOn must recognize, that is why all transcoding continues for 5 minutes even after you stop. It is annoying but probably enhances use.

- Are you saying that the PlayOn interface in Universe doesn't provide art and descriptions? The other PlayOn services do.

- I'm working with whurlston and we are hoping he can combine his Netflix plugin with PlayOn playback

No, I was just talking about my experience using playon directly, not through Universe. Universe does show art and descriptions in Netflix. Sorry for the mixup.

Thanks to sub's help, NPVR 1.5.35 will be able to support Universe on both the PC and NMT, and so I thought some of you would like to get a sneak preview on how it works using PlayOn's Yule Log version on my PCH A100

Looks good Martin. I can't wait to get NPVR 1.5.35 to try it out. Any word when it should be out?
