I know it's not a comfort but people has been asking those questions since the dawn of time, Why is this happening, why me? Big Grin

Seriously, I'v experienced a lot of similar problems over the years; a plug-in card can work fine in one computer but cause all kind of problems in another. And sometimes it helps just to move the card to another slot. I'v come to the conclution that some motherboards and plug-ins are simply not compatible, even they are supposed to be.

Yes, I have already moved the PCI card to another slot (which solved the issue with the tuner card not working), and deactivated all internal devices I do not need. Looks promising so far. No audio or video skips.
But the last time I had the audio skip issue it started creeping in after a few hours/days of use. Probably because of use of that interfering device.

Well, enough highjacking of this thread with my hardware problems. I got the answers I needed from Sub and all seems well now. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

it showed up in bios cuz you switched from regular port to a raid controller port..[or vice-versa] it's probably why the extra irq is used...
sounds like some bios settings are wrong...reset to factory defaults then set for your hardware only stuff that's necessary..
if running out of irqs, disable any devices not used like parallel/serial ports,etc..
that's a super fast drive so pretty sure that's not the issue..probably a shared irq for hd controller..
sometimes it helps to remove all extra hardware and add one at a time[most important/troublesome first] so windows can moderate conflicts 1 at a time..
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie

Well, it's a Asus P5K-VM, with a Nvidia discrete graphics card added.
It has a ICH9 controller of a "base" type which does not provide RAID. It has 4 SATA ports. They seem to be equal, but only the first two show extra information in BIOS in the SATA configuration submenu. So I have moved this disk, which is also the system disk to the first port now. The settings in BIOS are IDE/AHCI and I run AHCI. No RAID option.
All devices I do not need are disabled as you mention. All settings have been looked over and I can not really find anything that could cause a problem. The computer is actually downclocked slightly to reduce heat. (Multiplyer clock on 8 instead of 9)

Yesterday I had no problems with audio, and all tuners worked. I had one skip in a recorded show. It could maybe be because of momentary loss of signal from the antenna? I am not sure. My skipping problems may be solved, or not. Still investigating.

The problem, as it was when it was really annoying, was like you fast forward a few secs sometimes over 10 seconds. Soemtimes you can reverse back and find the missing stuff, sometimes it is just not there.

That's sounds like a signal problem, as it happens to me on occasion.

I did not have these issues on the same HW with the old Win XP install...
But perhaps the Win7 environment is more sensitive?
