Hi,
Im installing NPVR on a fresh install of WinXP & cant get it to scan channels.
The sequence is as below-
settings->devices->AF9015 BDA Filter
Country: australia
Region: Brisbane
CI/CAM: none (?Im assuming this is correct?)
scan
It starts scanning 177500khz (which is a channel) but nothing happens - the longest Ive left this for is a few minutes.

Logs are attached.

NB latest drivers used - Scanchannelsbda.exe works fine with the hardware.

thanks

Hi I run AF9015 usb units on multiple systems

can you tell us the driver version you are using and if the AF9015 unit is a single or dual tuner in a single usb dongle.

the failure to scan is something I have experienced

If you go into control panel and pull up the driver details can you tell me the name that windows reports the unit as as well as the driver version ....

Hi,

Under device manager its a "DigitalNow TinyTwin DVB-T Receiver"

Under properties its-

General-
Device type - sound, video and game controllers
manufacturer - ITETech
location - Location 0 (DVB-T 2)

Driver-
Driver provider ITETech
Driver date 9/09/2009
Driver version 9.603.1.909

AFAIK its the latest driver, downloaded from http://www.digitalnow.com.au/downloads.html, top option.
It is the V1, double tuner as in that web page.

During driver installation it has the problem of recognising as something else, but as the readme in the driver files describes, this is fixed by manually telling windows which driver files to use.

Thanks

if you shut down and power off the system then power up and load NPVR

now without doing anything else if you do a channel scan on the first of the two tuners does it scan and then fail to scan the second tuner or do you have problems scanning any of the tuners ?

Same problem regardless of tuner. When scanning the first frequency, it just sits there doing nothing indefinitely with no results.

Which version(s) of windows are you using?
In the log there seems to be an error loading a component of directx. Maybe this is related to the version of windows.

Hi Spotty it may be windows version specific the reason I may not be able to help is I run Windows 7 with the AF9015 dual tuner USB units .... and not XP .... despite using the latest driver myself as older ones cause blue screens of death or system lock ups so using the latest version 9 driver from ITE is a must ... but despite that I had problems with NPVR changing tuner so I could scan the first tuner on the USB dual unit then the second would just sit there on the first frequency of the scan forever....
I fixed mine using a wierd illogical method but I dont think that will help the thread as the symptom they are describing is on XP and they cannot get any of the tuners to scan .....

A long time ago GBPVR worked fine with my tuner, then for some complex technical reason it would not record audio on one of the new tv channels. It was a problem with a wrong number from scanning channels. Sub analysed the logs and came up with a fix but it would not work on my system due to some dependency issue, so I needed to wait for the next release (which is NPVR).

To get by in the meantime, I used ScanChannelsBDA.exe to gather info, corrected the error in C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\BDA\SCAN-1.cache and SCAN-2.cache, and then all was good. I would start a scan, then stop it instantly and the results from the SCAN-1.cache file would be there on the screen.

Im not sure how but scanning new channels stopped working altogether, so I used ScanChannelsBDA.exe to get new channel info and entered it into SCAN-1.cache etc as above.

Some ideas for a fix (temporary)
(1) Fibreoptics - if there is a file like SCAN-1.cache in NPVR, could you please post that here? - I'll try the trick I have used before (as above).
(2) After messing with the AF9015 drivers I'm concerned it is not removing the old driver(s) completely, so Im going to try to find a usb driver remover that leaves no trace, then try the various versions of driver. If anyone knows of such a program please let me know.

Scanning channels is not your only problem, I think. Even, if you would have channels already there, AF9015 tuner won't work with Npvr in some PC's.
I tried six or seven different versions of af9015 drivers.
