After installing nPVR 1.5.36 any video played through TVListings, either Live TV, in progress recording, or completed recording, stutters very badly. The same file watched through default TV guide or with recordings, plays smoothly. Are different decoders used?

Logs attached. Don't know if this is for Alibert or sub, but hope someone can offer some advise. Thanks.
What, me worry?

Hi,

the plugin uses NPVR's built in interfaces to play back video files or watch live tv, so I don't think that there should be differences. I also didn't notice that something has changed with NPVR 1.5.36 here.

Does sub's reply in the support forum help at all?

sub Wrote:My guess is TVListings is continually to returning 'true' from NeedsRendering() while it's the active screen and the video is playing, or something like that.

I guess no one else is seeing this problem.

I also notice now that I get high CPU (20-30%) on each NextPVR.exe process when TVListings is active, PC and NMT. When I start watching Live or a recording on NMT the process CPU drops to 0%, but on PC it increases when start watching.
What, me worry?

For what it's worth: I've noticed occasional stuttering on my NPVR with the latest version, but I just installed TV Listings today and haven't even watched Live TV yet. It's very rare for me and I'm still investigating, but like you it's really severe when it happens. Usually changing the channel and going back to the previous one resolves it for me. I'm going to narrow down that I don't have something running in the background that might be stealing process time - if I have nothing I plan to post my issue in the NPVR section. I just haven't had time with the holidays to do any troubleshooting on it.

roy - I've seen it too (now.) Exactly as you describe. I noted that it happens with TVListings but if I exit out, go to the Main Menu and then Live TV, it's fine. I see sub replied to your other post in NPVR Support about it, perhaps ailbert will see it and look into subs suggestion.

Good, thanks, I think?

Yes, I was referring to "watch" through TVListings, I don't use LiveTV from the Main Menu, so can't confirm that, but maybe I'll try it.

Edit: Yes, Live TV from the Main Menu is smooth.

Hi,

I was able to reproduce it here, it will be fixed for the next release. Thanks for the report.
