I would like to add a new alternative when setting up a recurring recording. The one I am missing is "Record this show any day on ALL channels".

I know now that with NPVR you are able to set up complex recording queries but I would really like to have the one above as a predefined option.

Thanks,

I've often wished for that one too. In particular I find some kids' shows bounce around the various PBS affiliates, then Qubo, then back to PBS but on different sub-channels. It's silly to have to set up 8 recurring recordings to catch the daily Thomas and Friends.

I think it would be easy in an advanced NEWA search from either in NEWA or SearchLite.

This patch adds an 'all episodes, all channels' option.

I know - but it's sometimes convenient for me to get people testing things earlier than the next release.

I didnt have to change anything to implement this. It ends up creating a manual recording, for any channel, with the advanced rule set to: title like '%" + epgEvent.Title + "%'

The only method I see in the Ischedulehelper api that lets me pass in an advanced rule is: ScheduleRecording(string name, int channelOID, System.DateTime startTime, System.DateTime endTime, int prePadding, int postPadding, NUtility.DayMask dayMask, int keepCount, NUtility.RecordingQuality quality, string advancedRules)

Is this the method I should be using to set one of these anyday, anytime any channel as well as other combinations thisday, thistime anychannel & anyday, thistime, anychannel & thisday, anytime, anychannel ?

Edit: Or do a schedule a recurring recording like normal and then take the recurring recording object that is created and update the advanced rule property?
