Although I have seen references to this card in this forum I cannot find the answers to two questions:-
1. Is this card supported by NPVR?
2. If so, in what format(s) are SD and HD recordings saved?

I am located in UK where SD is DVB-T, and HD is DVB-T2

Any assistance appreciated.

Thanks

1. It doesn't appear anyone has actually tried it. The general rule around here is that Hauppuage (and by extension, Pinnacle PCTV) cards are the best supported, as sub has good technical contact with them and many sample cards. I'm pretty sure I've seen him mention that Blackgold has been very unresponsive to his technical requests. For the most part though, any card with a standard BDA driver should work fine. DVB-T2 is new, but so far as long as the card's drivers handle it the same as DVB-T, then NPVR should have no problem with it. That is the case with the PCTV DVB-T2 Nano Stick.

2. NPVR saves the Transport Stream (.ts) received from the broadcaster directly to disk. So it saves in whatever format it's broadcast in. In your neck of the woods I think that would be MPEG-2 TS for SD, and H.264 TS for HD. For audio I think you guys have MPEG-1 Layer II for SD and some form of AAC for HD.

I searched for BGT3620 and didn't get many results, and based my response on that. I should have searched on 3620 by itself, or blackgold.

I searched on Blackgold, and whilst I did get some results, I did not get the one Petrovski refers to. I suspect my fault using an upper case B.

Thanks for the link.
