When importing channels from XML, it'll usually honour any channel numbers included in the file, but if you've already got channels with those numbers - all bets are off. You cant have two channels with the same number, so you'll need to either update them to other numbers not already in use, or merge them with the existings channels (hold ctrl, click both, right click, select merge). "merging" effectively makes them two sources of the same channel, and the app can use either when scheduling recording etc. (simply having the same name or number is not the same thing)
Thanks Sub,
I'm with you now.
1) Can anything be done regards the scan and finding the LCN Numbers or is that just 'the way it is'?
2) Gotcha regards the .xml, I knew about the merge but hadn't got that far yet, was just trying to sort all this out in my head first
3) So out of interest, if I set up my analog source first, imported the .xml and it honoured the numbers as per the XMLTV data and THEN I set up a digital device and it got the LCN numbers on the scan, it would be the same in reversal of what I've done? i.e. it would not allocate the LCN numbers as identical channel numbers had already been taken by the analog device?
great stuff, loving NextPVR every time I have to do things like this it is just so much more user friendly than GB-PVR (don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with GB-PVR but very soon I will have to 'retire' it!)
cheers
