As I discovered yesterday Hairy included the droidsans fonts in his release of the Slate skin unfortunately this is a 26Mb download just to get some fonts & as they are needed for the correct display of default in 1.5.36 I did some Googling & it looks like they are free to distribute from what I can gather here http://code.google.com/webfonts/family?f...s#download so I was wondering would it be a good idea to include the link in the NPVR sticky? Here is a copy of the license as well.

Sub shouldn't these be included with NPVR? After Jaggy and ACTCMS pointed this out last night, I noticed global.xml really does reguire these fonts.

Well done Jaggy and ACTCMS for flagging this up and investigating. For what it is worth IMO I have to agree with Martin, best case scenario these should somehow be included with a NextPVR install, silently rather than manually would be even better. Having read through the terms of license for these fonts I can't see that this is an issue provided they are accompanied with the license details.

I forgot to actually add installer steps to install them. I had intended to. I'll fix it up in the next release.

oh, so it's been working for most of us because we had already installed Slate before? what does it do for new users who haven't installed the font? just fail back to a different font and not look quite right?

Yeah, its falling back to another font, but it's not too dissimilar, so doesnt look that different.

I doubt it is "most of us" just looking at the relatively small number of downloads all the skins get, unless there is a REALLY small number of users on NextPVR at the moment Wink
