Recording panel not working on PCH/NMT

- added recordings panel to display upcoming recordings inside the 'now playing' area

alibert, it looks like the recording panel is not working on the PCH/NMT. I do not have any logs for this now but can recreate the problem if logs are needed. The panels are working fine on the PC, but NPVR wont even start on the PCH/NMT with the panels activated. Besides this 3.4 works like a charm.

I can confirm this as well, my MVP log attached after trying on the NMT

Hi,

from the logfile, there is an error that indicates that the plugin may try to set the audio description too early, so that the MVPServerForm fails to render due to an internal null reference exception. The problem is that the plugin does not know when the application startup is complete, as the "STARTUP COMPLETE" event never fires on the nmt.

Jaggy: do you experience the same issues Agerdin reported, and npvr doesn't even start on the nmt (i.e. main menu not appears at all), or is just the panel not working? From the logfile, it seems that it also sets the panel text to "Next Recording: (none scheduled)" successfully afterwards.

Agerdin: Besides that, your logfiles would help me, too.

It's working here on my setup, so it may be related to different startup times of the application and the other plugins. I'll have to ask sub what I can do here, and the get back to you.

No the main menu never appeared at all, first time I had to do a cold boot of the NMT to get it going again, second time (those logs attached above) it warm booted by itself after sitting at a black screen for ages.

could you please try the attached version of the plugin to see if it makes a difference? I've included an additional check before the plugin tries to set the now playing text.

No, that did not fix it for me, still black screen on PCH. Funny thing is, I went back to the dll dated 1/16, to see if this new dll was the problem, and still saw the next recording panel.

would you please upload your logfiles using the version attached above so that I can have a look? Also, it might be necessary to restart the recording service or kill an active mvp npvr.exe instance after replacing the tvlistings.dll so that it is loaded on next start.

I replaced the dll with the one from above (2/12/2011 2:55 PM), rebooted the PC then plugged in the PCH, still black screen. Logs attached.

Before when I replaced the old dll, even after reboot the next recording panel still displays on the PC. How could that be? Wold you like logs of that?

alibert, love your TV Listings, thanks for the fine plugin

Am having same problem with trying to run nPVR (with TV LIstings plugin) on my NMT (eGreat M34A) -- just hanging when attempting to start nPVR.

This is on Win 7 with nPVR and NMT installed via Martin's NMTInstall2 program

Just in case it might help my logs are attached -- after swapping out to the .dll provided above.

I did restart the NPVR Service started NPZVR from the NMT share menu

I removed the TVListings folder from the Plugins folder - TVListings still shows on the menu (nothing happens when selected) but next recording panel is gone. After reboot, the same, but now the PCH does start up (and still shows TVListings in the menu). TVListings and TVRecordings are still listed, unchecked, under settings/plugins. :confused: I manually changed the plugin to enabled=false in config.xml to remove it.
