You might have to turn Windows Live off to get sharing working.


Also I noticed another issue in your last logs you have to make the case on

TOM-HP:mvpmc match in both your npvr.cgi and as it is named on the NMT. If you edit the cgi file, you must use a unix style editor.

I don't remember what cacls is (google is your friend) but ACL is access control list.

Kidding aside, it seems the Windows Live was the culprit! The M43A is now doing all that was expected. Thanks so much for your patience on such things.

I did go back and match case on all shares (because you said so) - but am interested to learn why. I'm so used to Windows being case insensitive - and being stone cold new to Win7 my prior history (assumptions) sometimes comes into play without me realizing. Is the case sensitivity something new in Win7 or is that requirement imposed by the NMT progs, nPVR, or what?

Glad you got it, Microsoft's changes for Windows Live, triggers a bug in Samba used in linux and a lot of devices and distro's are having troubles with it.

The case issue is still linux, when you click the link you are actually running a command on a web server on the NMT which then loads mvpmcx2 on the NMT.

Re 1.5.36 upgrade...

Does the current NMTInstall2 work for upgrading to the new 1.5.36 ?

I want to get to the new Universe version you released - but want to be sure the nPVR upgrade is done properly before doing the mvpmcx2o and dongle upgrades.

Yes actually NMTInstall and NMTInstall2 install the same version of mvpmcx2.

The NMTInstall2 file typically doesn't change for releases, there is a mechanism in place to tell you if it needs to be updated, but the v2.0 configuration was updated about 4 1/2 hours ago.

Hi, got my Popcorn Hour yesterday, so now figuring out how to get it to run. Apparently there is a problem in the NMTInstall2 procedure. See the bottom part of:

Especially the single quote is a sign something is wrong. Any ideas? There are currently no Google finds on "N-PVR Version Mismatch", so that is why I turn to you. Note, my nPVR works just fine.

To avoid this for now, untick the option to install N-PVR updates. It is a safety check I have to make sure any updates NMTInstall2 identifies don't get installed in different version. There are actually none identified right now, but there will be in the next few days.

Hi Martin,

Thanx. In the meantime I managed to make all configs manually, but only end up with a gray screen saying "mvmcx2 is loaded killall: gaya". In fact, usually without the trailing "a". I ran the wizzard to see if it improved, but it did not. I can see nothing funny in the configs or logs. I use the composite out, will get my HDMI screen next week. Set all screens to 640x576, NMT to PAL. Could find the share just fine, and installed it in the Shares through Setup. I only do not get the menus...
