$Mail_UseSSL = $true or $false?

If you've set it to true, make sure its $true and not just the word 'true'

Also, if using gmail, make sure your $Mail_User is equal to your gmail ID without '@gmail.com' tacked onto the end.

Added new version with includes command line option to test email settings, better handling of email failures and writes status messages to standard out instead of directly to console, allowing output to be redirected.

Yeah, I've updated the OP with the latest version and updated the instructions too.

Updated to include more nicely formatted email message that's easier to read on a variety of resolutions (i.e. works better on a smartphone), and the option to ignore certain channels during scans so that irrelevant changes can be ignore, such as cable PPV channel juggling.

Since this isn't really a plugin or skin, I've moved the discussion to a new thread in the community announcements forum.
