I'm making the switch to npvr and I can't get a screen to show the video while mapping my qam channels. What do i do to get the screen it was always there when you scanned in gbpvr.

GBPVR worked quite differently. With GBPVR you could only watch mapped channels, and you absolutely needed an EPG of some type. These requirements made it very difficult for new users to get started with the app. They need to find out what an EPG is, and where to get one.

With NPVR you just scan, it finds channels, you hit ok and you're ready to watch tv. By default these channels use the broadcast epg, but often users will want to use other EPG source, like xmltv or schedules direct. There is a few places you can do that. For QAM, the easiest way is while you're watching the channels in 'live tv', you can right click and select 'Set Channel EPG Source'.

@donschjr, I added a feature to the Web Radio plugin that would allow you to preview clear QAM to help ID stations I needed this because I have 50+ unencrypted channels and but only 5 are watchable and there are also 50 digital radio and I only want about 10 of these so adding them all, viewing in the EPG, and then deleting them after each cable shuffle took too long.

Thanks for the help got it sorted, now I need to figure out why my picture quality isn't as good as it was in GBpvr. I think I have the same decoders selected but I'm out of time for now.
