Hmm, can you temporarily rename your npvr.db3 to something else, then restart the app, and try setting it up again to see if it works correctly. It'll create a copy from empty.db3, which should have this column by default.

I think because of the previously missing column, your HDPVR_RECORDER table is missing a row of data.

Part of the problem is that empty.db3 has never been patched with the new schema for crossbar_filter mine is VARCHAR(255) to not (50)

My master empty.db3 has it, but I cant remember if this was accidentally missed in 2.0.3 and fixed slightly after the release. If it isnt right in the installer. It'll be right for the next release.

This doesnt matter. SQLite ignores the size of a varchar

I just installed a fresh copy of windows, and thus a fresh copy of npvr. I'm having this same issue as well.

Just tried to see if renaming the db3 file would work. same issue. Not sure where to go from here.

I am just transitioning from Windows XP MCE & GBPVR to Windows 7 & NPVR. I have almost everything working except some tinkering with the video codecs, etc.

I am having the exact same issue discussed in this thread, where the HD-PVR channel changer settings do not stick.

In my case I want to continue using the firewire channel changing as it has been very reliable in my experience. In fact I went with the 32-bit version of Windows 7 even though I would otherwise have gone with x64 just to maintain compatibility with firewire channel chanding. I installed the Vista Timmoore .exe with the ExDeus device drivers and manually changed my boards' firewire driver to the "legacy" version. I browse to the executable and use the -f -a0 2 {channel} argument but after I click "OK" and go back into HD-PVR settings the the entries are blank. It is weird because the channel lineup I downloaded from Schedules Direct sticks after clicking "OK" and closing the very same window.

Here is what I have done to troubleshoot so far...
- System Reboot - Duhh!
- Just to be sure that I had the changer set up right I tried it in GBPVR on the Windows 7 system and it worked perfectly.
- Made sure GBPVR services were not running afterward
- Stop and restart NPVR services
- General tinkering

I guess I will start rooting around in the program files and data. I will see if I can find issues in the xml file. The other possible area of concern might be the "softPVR" folder I created to install the HD-PVR pre-requisites. I did fully install the WinTV 7 stuff with the original CD so I am not 100% clear on if the softPVR folder is even necessary.

This is the only issue keeping me from enjoying all that NPVR goodness. I am open to suggestions or solutions from anyone who might also have experience with this channel changer settings reverting to default (none) issue. Thanks in advance.

You dont need SoftPVR for an HD-PVR.

Replace your empty.db3 file with the one attached, then delete your npvr.db3 file, then restart the app and visit the Settings -> Devices screen to setup your channels again.

I can't thank you enough for the quick response and a solution that worked perfectly. It literally runs my whole house where media is concerned. NPVR links day to day TV and my 12TB "Media Array" as I call it, with NMT extenders and clients around the house distributing it. This software at the center of it all with a consistent interface and access system wide. This stuff used to be science fiction! Using GBPVR for the last couple of years and now looking forward to the "Next" best thing, I want to offer my sincere gratitude to you and all who contribute to this amazing project.
