Multiple irblaster / HaupBlast configs

I have three pvr 150s in my machine all setup to use haupblast to control the external tuners. However, no matter which capture card is being used the ir blaster on only one of the tuners is changing the channel. So I get one tuner that changes channel all the time and the other tuners just sit on the same channel. No matter how I disable the channels in the tuner where the ir blast signals are being sent to (disable all of them from config) the signals keep being sent to this blaster.

Are there any options to HaupBlast to tell it the capture card that it should use the ir blaster from?

Also is there a way to specify the configuration for each individual ir blaster? For example, if I wanted to set one tuner to use a different ir code then the others?

I think the Hauppauge only supports one IR Blaster.

I think you are right. At least that is what Hauppauge is hinting at in there e-mail. They actually seem to blame the "applications" for not supporting this kind of feature.

As a way around this I am now using dtvcontrol to control a second directv box through one of the the serial ports. The limitation however with this program is there is no support to control more than one directv box through additional serial ports.

I have found a perl script that is suppose to do the same thing and will be testing that out next. It looks like it should work and will solve my problems.

Actually, for anyone trying to do the same thing this appears to be a much better way to go. Channel changing is SOOOO FAST compared to the ir blaster. Also I now have the ability to remove the directv banner at the top of the screen that shows up whenever you change channels.

If I get the perl script working (it was written to linux), then I'll post the results here and on the wiki page. I may also just end up rewriting the perl script in 'C' as I think invoking the perl script will be slower.

So I solved my problem to some degree. I have now given up on using the ir blaster for everything. I'm using the utility I just released to control the external directv set top boxes through the serial port. Had to buy a usb to serial adapter for the third receiver.
