Hello,
I am trying to build a DVR (actually an AVR I have analog (coax) cable) from an older PC.
I am in the United States, but I don't think that fact matters at this point.
3 Questions:
1. I am trying to connect my PC to my TV using the S-Video out port on my video card (GeForce FX 5200 NV34) and using an interface cable that converts S-Video to an RCA video cable. I have the video card resolution set to 620x480 at 60 Hz refresh. The TV shows the post message from the motherboard, but goes black (not static. It is black.) when the windows splash screen pops. It also stays black after I have logged in.
My setup:
Motherboard: ECS EliteGroup K7VMA REV 1.0
CPU: Athlon XP 2400+ (1.93GHz) 266FSB
Video Card: LeadTek GeForce FX5200 NV34 8XAGP 128MB DDR w/VGA, DVI & TV-Out
OS: Windows 2000.
Motherboard, OS, and Video Card drivers are as up to date as possible.
What do I need to do to keep the TV reading from the RCA (converted from S-Video) input?
2. Would it be useful to use a cable that converts the SVGA to RCA?
3. (Since I'm already asking) What is the most trouble free PCI TV Tuner capture card?
(A remote would be nice, but I'm not picky.)
Thank you
