Today's fun:

Other than creating a .edl file before playback, is there any way to supply skip points in code? For the files the plugin plays, there is almost always a 60 or 90 second opening, that I would like to provide an option to skip by.

If not, well, no big deal. There is already a 'next chapter' button that does the same thing. I just figured it would be neat to automate it via the commercial skipping stuff.

So if it is there, great! If not (teehee!) skip it.

Sorry, no there isnt.

If it's mainly an initial skip you're interested in, you can always prompt the user before the video starts, then just set the playback position when you start the video. Like I do with the resume prompt.

I think you could have your own thread following the video playback and with a combination of Duration() and SetPosition(##) you could mimic comskip. I am not sure if this will respect the Timing.Info information if you are playing NPVR recordings.

Heh, the commercial thing isn't that big of a dream. It was very much a "something neat to do if it could be done in 10 minutes or less". Anything more than that is just too much effort.

As is, being able to hit the "next chapter" button on the remote is so much nicer than the previous method ('forward, forward, crap, too far, back a bit') that saving one additional key press just isn't that motivating.
