I didn't change the installer to point to new directory. Technically, you can install in any directory. I'll try to add some logic, if NPVR dir exists, it will default there, otherwise default to GPVPR.

Hi JW, just wondering if there was an update to this which took into account teh dir above and also utilised the recent update in the SearchWizX2 and IMDB Information thread? http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...nformation

Nope, have not gotten back to this. If I get some time this week, I'll take a look. I will try to make WizImageGrabber stand-alone, and not dependent on any GBPVR (or NPVR) DLLs.

Hi JW, not pushing, so no hurry, just thought I'd give it a wee bump when you get time.

JW has not posted since Jan so I think he has probably now moved onto new things.
I still use WIG as there does not appear to be any alternative method for grabbing show images and it still seems to do a damn fine job of finding show images from The TVdb and The Moviedb. The only downside is that I still have to keep gbpvr running and its epg updated so WIG has a source EPG to work from. It would have been good if someone could have taken this over to fully integrate it into npvr.

Does the "Get Cover" function in the SearchLite plugin get the cover art that you are looking for? If so I could probably write a quick and dirty command line version that will do this by filename in an hour or so.

Thanks Martin.
No an exhaustive test but from the 4 TV shows I tested, "Get cover" does seem to deliver the same results as WIG which is good news indeed. I think it would be a big improvement to npvr to have its own image grabber as having the show images really does make any PVR look so much better in my view. There are 2 ways that people grab images using WIG today:- a) grab image for filename in postprocesssing.bat: this will result in show images in tv/recordings and video plugin. b) grab images for every show listed in the EPG via epgupdate.bat. This will show images in both the tv guide AND the recordings and video lists. I prefer to do it this way (b) simply as it looks quite cool having the image appear when browsing the EPG. WIG optionally had the option (in b) to only download images where genre is x,y,x. This was my idea (to only grab movies) but I am not sure if anyone actually uses this (I don;t any more) WIG also has the concept of placeholders to avoid trying and failing to download the same image every day (in scenario b) if image not found, create empty image file. then delete empty files > x days old so attempt will be made next time. So what I have today does work but I would definitely like to be able to finally uninstall gbvr and have a native npvr version. john

gEd thanks for the background. SearchLite already uses the XML metadata as a kind of placeholder so implementing that would be no issue but I don't like the idea of (b) at all, so I guess there isn't much point in me looking at this further.
