Help with documenting the Bulk Map features of NextPVR on the Configuration.Channels wiki page would be gratefully received. I've never used it and not sure on the details of it's used.

The 'Bulk Map' screen can be used to quickly remap the EPG source for a large number of channels, removing the need for visiting the Setting screen for each and every Channel. For example, you may decide you'd like to switch your channels to use XMLTV listings instead of the default 'DVB/ATSC EPG'. To simplify the process, after switching the first channel to XMLTV, then Bulk Map screen will ask if you want it to auto-mapping the rest of the channels for you. It'll try to do this by matching the channel name (with punctuation and capitalisation removed).

Is there a way to use the Bulk Map screen when you are just adding new channels? In my case, I have 26 channels already setup to use XMLTV with the appropriate file. However, now that I'm trying to add the DCR-2650, I've got 120+ new channels that have been added. I can use the details screen to individually set the EPG source for a new channel, but it takes a long time to go through and do that for each new channel. I tried using the Bulk Map screen, and I can change the"EPG Source" to be XMLTV for a group of the new channels, but when I click "OK", the EPG Source change doesn't seem to be saved. (I'm guessing that it is because I don't have any option to select the channel within the XMLTV file? Or is it supposed to do that automatically by matching the channel names?)

I must be doing something wrong somewhere.
I've just setup NPVR 2.2.6 plus current patches on a fresh machine with a dual DVB-T tuner and scanned one tuner and selected the 30 odd channels wanted.
By default these seem to have take the DVB EPG.
I have created an XMLGUI source for these channels and can individually set a channel to the new source and mapping.
No matter what I do I cannot seem to find a way to change a number of channels from dvb to file-based epg source.
Going into bulk mapping I can change a channel from dvb to xmlfile with the pulldown but cannot change the mapping for that channel, and when OK'ing it goes back to DVB....
I'll try again in the morning after a bit of sleep......

You should be able to. I'll check it later.

I've seen this happen too. I think you can override an individual channel using the other screen (ie not the bulk mapping one). Then back in the bulk mapping one it would show whatever xmltv file was selected last. In my case it was flicking between one for DVB-T and one for DVB-S. I just never had the time to find out exactly what was wrong and report it properly (because ultimately I got it working).

I was having the same problem when first setting up my DCR-2650 and had to manually select the EPG source for each new channel. If I changed the source to XML in the bulk map screen, it didn't make EPG Source field into a combobox to allow me to select the source channel from the XMLTV file.

Those are my symptoms written much more concisely Wink

Being a new box I'm setting up, 30 odd DVB-T channels aren't too bad, but the prospects of next step, DVB-S - I'd rather have bulk mapping working.
