smiffypr Wrote:That actually makes it slightly worse, 12 updates result in a size of 460,000k odd, but then it does drop over the following minute or two to stabilize at 430,240k, which is ever so slightly better.
Hmm, that is really odd. I was able to reproduce you problem, I found the cause and fixed it, and now it's working fine for me. I just checked right now by doing 12 updates and the memory ended up at 133MB, which is pretty much where I started was before the first update.

Can you try again with this patch and post the npvr.log? I've added some logging.

As I know Microsoft .NET Runtime v2.0 is a pre-requisite, and as you mention .NET above, I thought I 'd check what I've got installed.
I have Microsoft .NET Runtime v2.0 Service Pack 2 and 15 updates,
Microsoft .NET Runtime v3.0 and one update,
Microsoft .NET Runtime v3.9 Service Pack 2 and 13 updates,
Microsoft .NET Runtime v3.5 SP1 and 4 updates
I un-installed Microsoft .NET Runtime v4 because it screwed up WMC.

Is this OK?

None of the messages I added are in your logs. Are you sure you've installed those patches?

Current C:/Program Files/NPVR/NextPVR.exe is 498KB and a 14:04 time-stamp (previous ones were 497KB)
Current C:/Program Files/NPVR/NUtility.dll has a time-stamp of 14:03

Pretty sure they are the ones you sent at 14:08

Those date/times sound right, but its definitely missing the log messages I just added. When I run the same binaries, I get these new messages:
Quote:2011-07-08 14:46:43.759 [DEBUG][1] ShowDetailsPopup.Dispose()
2011-07-08 14:46:43.759 [DEBUG][1] UiStatic.Dispose()
The only way I can see those messages not showing up is if you dont have them installed.

I've downloaded the zip again, deleted all the old files "installed" the ones from the zip, still the same time-stamps, and still no "Dispose" in the log.

Try again with this. I've added even more logging.

Running now with files time-stamped 15:23. Doesn't seem to be any more debug, but log attached.

Hmm. Your logs indicate you're definitely not running those patches. It is missing the log messages. I'm not sure how, but you must be doing something wrong with how you're installing these patches.
