So if I wanted to clean out my recordings list....but without deleting the video file...is via SQL the only way to do this?

Yes, you could do something like that.

delete from SCHEDULED_RECORDING where filename = 'xxxxx'

Or you could move the physical files and set config to do an auto-cleanup of missing files ???

I like the thought of archive as a field on the database which is a simple filter on the list. Add on utilities could then easily be made by developers to move the physical file.
