Sorry, meant to say you'll only see 7445 as this is the result of a setup attempt after the post where I mentioned 7444. I deleted that channel. The 7445 channel doesn't work either, using -o 7445.

Should I be seeing the NetTarget...etc in the device setup screen, because the source field always reverts to 'xxxx Not defined', when I exit and re-enter device setup.

It worked for me. When you copied NetTarget did you do it in a UAC safe way?

I have UAC disabled, so that should not be a problem.

No, I was just away for my dev machine. Could you try this db3 to see if if works. I will re-look at NetTarget later.

I could not find a problem, but I have added extra logging to this version. Upload NetTarget.log from the NPVR logs folder if you still have a problem after using it.

That is working a bit now, although I had to add <RollingFile>true</RollingFile> to the xml in order to get live tv to display. Before that I was getting a black screen only, but was able to produce watchable recordings. Live TV is launching successfully sometimes, but usually I get a blank screen, but I can see the temporary file growing in my buffer directory.

I've attached a full set of logs in case you need more than the NetTarget log.

Was I adding the tuning info incorrectly? Can you tell me how to do it right, or will I need to add stuff to the DB manually?

Two things can cause the black screen in live tv since NPVR is dumb when it comes to LiveTV.

First you have to properly identify if the stream for the channel is h264 or standard mpeg2 video. If you have it set up correctly, try reducing the delay in the NetworkRecorder.xml and increasing the buffer in config.xml

Rather then answering the other questions try the new NetTarget.exe and post the logs from it, if you still have problems.

I made sure I was using mpeg2, and I've now successfully added a second channel by adding the tuning data to the db.

You recommend reducing the delay - I actually increased the delay and it seemed to make it more stable. I had taken this to be some kind of buffer setting - what does the delay actually do?

I will try reducing the display and increasing the buffer as you suggest.

edit: is it the <PrePlayDelay> value in config.xml that you're referring to?
