I've got UltraXMLTV_Enhancer version 2.1.4022.22256.

I think that I have it configured properly to include the movie rating in the Description field (see image), but it doesn't seem to be doing that.

Here's the frustrating part. I don't know... I have used 'Zehd's picks' from the beginning... and have always had information displayed correctly, assuming the data exists and is formatted correctly. I have created the program to allow for custom profiles and really... it should work...

But I don't know. I don't use 2.1 anymore... I was in the middle of developing to 2.2 and I was almost there for a release... But I just lost interest... GB-PVR moving to NPVR was something that knocked the wind out of my sails. And the mood and feeling of the forum wasn't quite right anymore...

I know why the change... but I still thought it was terrible to drop support for something that worked really well, for something that required SOOOO much work to get it somewhere near 1.4.7 was... (I also know and respect that there is mostly one person that would have needed to keep both apps going and that would be next to impossible)

Anyway, I confirmed that Ultra 2.x worked with npvr and then I just let it go. This is the first email I've received from anyone in about a year.

I'm sorry... but I'm not in a position to test or troubleshoot anything...

It was divisive for sure, but I think now you will see the momentum is there. There are a few things that I still like about PVRX2. I think it hurt the MVP (and of course zprocess) users hardest, but HD happened. You must have a nice selection on OTA HD in Calgary right now.

Yes it was tough having to rebuilt but it wasn't from scratch. Sub's job was harder.

Sorry to hear that you will be missed, I know BrettB was thinking of asking for change to use round brackets () instead of square []. I don't know VB but if you make your code available, I guess I can make small changes it you'd like.

Frank,

I'm sorry to hear about your discouragement and loss of interest in UltraXMLTV. Personally, I find it a very nice addition to tweak the EPG data from Schedules Direct. If for nothing else, at least to add the "*" new episode indicator to show titles! I'm wondering if there just haven't been any posts/emails because it has just been working fine for people. I know that it's been running for me for years now. And, fortunately, it still works OK. It would be nice to be able to tweak it more, though.

If there's anything that I could do to assist you, I'd be interested. I do some limited coding (mostly in VB).

You seem to have forgotten my explanation at the time. It wasnt by choice that I decided to rewrite the application. If I could have avoided it, I would have. Due to legal issue GBPVR was no longer mine to maintain (it wasnt since way back in 2005). The choices were either shutdown the website and tell everyone to go home, or start again and try to give people the same sort of TV app but even better. I think I took the much hard route by starting again, primarily because I didnt want to let people down. Through the benefit of hindsight, I was able to avoid bad design decisions that were made first time around, and we've ended up with something much better than GBPVR ever was, on a lot of fronts.

Really it's a matter of me looking at the code again... and remembering...

But.. just as there's no going back to gbpvr and pvrx2... I wouldn't be going back to tweaking 2.1... aye and there's the rub... 2.2 has a lot of special DLL support file checking and auto download and updating features... (That were working beautifully!!) and indeed.. was designed to upgrade 2.1 users to 2.2 gracefully...

BUT.. I would now have to look at it again... well... it wouldn't be all that bad I guess...

Brett, let me know what you wanted (a different style bracket?) and I'll look at it... but in a while... I just got a new smart phone and I'm playing with that!!!

@Martin.. a few months ago I was using npvr and my hvr1600 to record from the four HDTV channels Calgary has... and it rocked... very nice picture and sound... Unfortunately.. the shows I really want to watch aren't on Canadian TV and so I have to cable/satellite it, or torrent it...

Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers sub! I did forget about the legal matters.

And yes I can see that a redesign ended up being a better thing... It's obvious that QAM and ATSC and the large TS files made the MVP (and ZProcess) quite excluded.. and there is no hard feelings toward you or the club for that!

The change that we wanted to see if you could make is to either change the movie title option to put the year in parentheses instead of square brackets ("(1990)" vs. "[1990]") or to make it configurable so I could change it to that. Martin has a nice imageGrabLite program that will download show and movie graphics, but doesn't find the movie ones with the square brackets. He said that if the date is in parentheses instead, it should work now.

And, I think that I have found a bug with the movie ratings not getting put in the descriptions with 2.1. But if we're going to 2.2, you could ignore that one for now.

As I said, I'm happy to assist in any way I can. I can definitely help beta test, etc.
