2.2.6 still missing channels...

so i upgraded to 2.2.6 hoping that it would find some channels i noticed i could tune to on my tv through clear qam, but don't show in npvr - the new version brings the scanning back to the level that gb-pvr could do, but it's still missing (at least) one channel in the scan. is there anything i can do to help it find it? couldn't figure out how to find the broadcast freq from my tv...

use the silicondust channel database (http://www.silicondust.com/support/channels/) to find out what the broadcast frequency is; that's a useful first step.

you could start by just running a scan and posting your npvr.log so that we can see if anything obvious is happening... probably not, since you're finding all your other channels ok.

a couple of posts past that he provides an alternate qam.ini file called "qam52"... modify that file to use the broadcast channel carrying your missing channel and put it in your tuning/QAM folder. then scan with that channel selected and post your resulting mon.txt file

i'm having trouble with those instructions... i have the ini file created right and added the registry key, but when i do a scan it doesn't create a c:\temp\mon.txt file?

hmm... ok, well just post your regular npvr.log after doing the scan, let's see if something else is going on. I trust you do of course have a c:\temp directory created? npvr won't create it for you.

yep, well i actually switched my live buffer directory to o:\temp, my C drive had trouble keeping up sometimes. no mon.txt file in either c:\temp or o:\temp though. i found that using a different tuner npvr actually does detect the missing channel, so not sure what's happening... here's the relevant log sections:

if the volar max finds everything, then just delete all the channels from the ATI card. Then go in to setup the ATI card again and it will offer to copy all the channels from the volar max.

Looks like the signal is too weak for that tuner, see the line at 19:26:07.876 - low quality and locked=0. I have a 650 tuner that is not as sensitive as my Aver tuner. How many splitters in front of the ATI? You can just delete the problem channel from the ATI, and it won't be used (for that channel). Maybe you can live with that.

I don't think the signal strength is an issue - all the other channels get signal 100%... i'm guessing it's whatever error npvr is encountering a few lines before that (that error is missing from the avermedia log)?
